Buoyancy in air

Experiment no.: 1.3.15
Auftrieb in Luft
A small weight and a larger Styrofoam ball are hanging from a sensitive beam balance. The weight and the Styrofoam ball appear to be of equal mass, since the balance is in equilibrium at atmospheric pressure. If one evacuates the balance, however, the larger Styrofoam ball tilts downward.
With this experiment, the buoyancy of a body in air can be demonstrated.
