Metal washer falls into bottle

A small piece of metal (a washer) is placed on a vertical plastic tube. If you forcefully push the tube sideways, the static friction between the washer and the plastic tube changes to kinetic friction. The tube slides sideways under the washer, and the washer falls into the neck of a glass flask standing underneath.
