Jumping candle

Bimetallic discs mounted on bent rods are heated up with a candle. When the discs are warm enough, they spring away from the candle along the rod. When they are cold again, they jump back to the candle.
It takes about 7 minutes for this interplay to begin after lighting the candle. which continues until the candle is blown out.
