Thermal expansion scales

Experiment no.: 9.1.13
Waage zur thermischen Ausdehnung
A sensitive beam scales, whose beams are made of metal, is in balance until one side of the scales is heated. Heating causes the metal to expand in length, which leads to an increase in the lever arm of the balance and thus brings the scales into imbalance.
