Water jet as a light guide (watering can)
Experiment no.: 5.9.13
This experiment demonstrates the principle of a light guide using the example of a water jet. The total reflection of light at the transition from an optically denser to an optically less dense medium prevents emission of light from the water jet, as long as the angle of incidence of light at the interface is greater than the critical angle.
