Precession of a gyroscope
Experiment no.: 2.3.23
New
since 07/25
The gyroscopic precession experiment demonstrates the behavior of a rotating wheel suspended on one side by a rope. After the wheel has been set in rotation, the principle of gyroscopic precession takes effect: instead of tipping directly downward, the center of gravity of the wheel (the gyroscope) begins to “precess” around the rope, i.e., it rotates along a circular path.
