Static and dynamic balancing
Experiment no.: 2.3.16
Two examples are used to show that purely static balancing, i.e. the axis of rotation through the centre of gravity, is a necessary but not a sufficient condition for smooth rotation. Dynamic bearing forces occur when the transverse component of the angular momentum is time-dependent.
