Adiabatic expansion

Experiment no.: 8.3.2
Adiabatische Expansion
A motor with an eccentric mechanism drives a piston that periodically compresses and decompresses the gas in a cylinder. The resulting adiabatic temperature change is measured for various gases by means of the change in resistance of an ultra-thin copper wire. This allows the number of degrees of freedom of the gas to be determined.
