Brown Robert
Person no. 90.3.53
English botanist
Robert Brown was born on 21 December 1773 in Montrose, Scotland. In 1827 he discovered the nucleus as a regular cell component, the Brownian molecular movement named after him, when he examined pollen grains under the light microscope. Particles floating in the plant sap moved in a completely unmotivated zig-zag manner in all directions. Later, this movement was called "Brownian motion".
