Thermal conduction of gases
Experiment no.: 8.6.3
This experiment demonstrates in a qualitative way, by observing the cooling a glowing wire, that the thermal conduction of a gas is inversely proportional to the square root of the molecular mass and, at pressures that are not too low, is virtually independent of the pressure.
