Eddy current brake in Cu pipe (normal, cut)

A magnet is dropped into a normal copper pipe and into a copper pipe that has been cut lengthwise. As eddy currents can arise in the normal copper pipe, the magnet falls through it much more slowly than in the cut copper pipe.
