Superposition of two waves

A mechanical model simulates two independent waves with the same amplitude and frequency. Depending on the phase and direction, addition of these two waves results in a wave with double the amplitude, cancellation of the two waves, or a standing wave. This experiment is particularly interesting and highly recommended.
